For her heroics in the final seconds of the Ball State University field hockey team's 4-3 conference win over Missouri State University on Saturday, junior defender Elizabeth Blaum on Wednesday notched her first career Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week award.
Blaum made a defensive save - her second of the season - in the final seconds to secure the MAC victory over Missouri State, the first of the season for the Cardinals (3-8, 1-3 MAC).
Blaum and the Cardinals return to MAC action this weekend as they match up with Ohio University and Kent State University.
