Entering the final round with a five-shot lead, the Ball State University women's golf team was unable to win its home tournament.
Ball State shot a 305 to finish in second place and seven shots behind first-place Eastern Michigan University at the Cardinal Classic on Sunday in Yorktown.
The Cardinals' 305 on the final 18-holes was 12 shots more than in the first round Saturday.
Sophomore Kristtini Cain led Ball State with a 149 in the two-day event and finished tied for ninth place.
