Driver had warrant out in Yorktown, Ind.

A Muncie resident was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana Wednesday night, after he lost control of his vehicle in front of the Architecture Building.

The driver of a red Pontiac was traveling westbound on Petty Road, when the right, front wheel fell off his car as he crossed McKinley Avenue.

Cpl. Gaither of Ball State University Police said UPD officers who stopped to investigate the accident smelled "burnt marijuana" on the driver, who admitted having a small amount of the illegal substance in his car.

By 10 p.m., police had the driver, who had a warrant out of Yorktown, Ind., in custody. UPD officers said they would transport him to the Delaware County Jail.
