WEST POINT, N.Y. - The promising start to wide receiver Seth White's career at Ball State University took a turn for the worse Saturday.
In Ball State's 24-17 loss at Army, White suffered a broken collarbone that will require surgery. The freshman is likely to miss the remainder of the season, coach Stan Parrish said.
White was injured when he took a big hit after catching a pass in the first quarter. He entered Saturday as the Cardinals' leader in receiving yards with 85 and caught one pass for eight yards at Army.
Ball State will likely file paperwork with the NCAA to grant White a medical redshirt for this season. That has already been done with tight end Madaris Grant, whose season was ended in the first game of the year with a torn ACL.
