MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Incoming recruit selected to high school All-American team

A Ball State University men's volleyball recruit for the 2010 season was named to an All-American high school team.

Libero Thomas Rouse, a recent graduate from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, was selected to the 2008-09 American Volleyball Coaches Association First-Team High School Senior All-America Team on Tuesday.

Rouse was one of 10 players selected to this team and was the only player from Indiana to make either the first or second team. He also is the first Cathedral boy's volleyball player to be named an All-American.

In Rouse's senior season, Cathedral advanced to the state championship match before losing to Center Grove High School in three games May 23.

Ball State finished the 2009 season in third place in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and lost to Ohio State University in the conference championship match in May. The Cardinals will have six starters returning next season, including libero Billy Ebel who lead the MIVA with 278 digs last season.
