Ball State to set 2009-10 tuition prices in late July

Ball State University students will have to wait another month to find out what they will be paying for tuition.

The Ball State University Board of Trustees will likely set tuition for the 2009-2010 school year at its meeting July 24, Anita Kelsey, the board's recording secretary, said Wednesday.

In previous years, tuition was set earlier in the summer. The Indiana General Assembly did not pass a state budget during its regular session that ended in April.

The board will not set tuition until it knows how much money the university will receive from the state.

Kelsey also said there will be a student member on the Board of Trustees when tuition is set.

The governor has not yet appointed a student member. Student member Kellie Conrad's term is set to end on June 30. If the governor does not appoint a new member by then, Conrad will continue to serve until he does, Kelsey said.
