SOFTBALL: School home run record tied in Ball State win

After a month long drought, Jen Reifschneider did not waste any time hitting her eighth home run of the season today against Northern Illinois University.

In her first at bat with two runners on, Reifschneider went opposite field for the three-run shot. The home run ties the Ball State University single-season record.

The three run home run proved enough to hold off the Huskies. Ball State defeated Northern Illinois 5-1.

The Cardinals added two more runs in the fourth inning.

This was the first game of a conference doubleheader at the BSU Softball Complex. The doubleheader finale will start at approximately 3:15 p.m.
