First screening of 'My Name is Jerry' set for May in Muncie

Ball State University alumnus Doug Jones will return to Muncie along with other members of the cast and crew from "My Name is Jerry" in May for the first screening of the Ball State- and Clothespin Films-produced film, the university announced today.

The movie's cast and producers are almost finished with post production, and they will return to Muncie to thank the city for its help and seek input to see if any changes are needed before the final product is released, according to a press release.

The screening is 8 p.m. May 7 at the Muncie Convention Center. Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the office of the Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education or online at mynameisjerry.com. Tickets for a VIP reception before the screening are also available for $35.

The film, which is about a middle-aged door-to-door salesmen who reinvents himself after meeting a group of punk rockers, was produced last summer in Muncie. It was sponsored by Ball State, the Center for Media Design, IDEE, the College of Fine Arts and private investors.

Jones worked on the film with fellow Ball State graduates Morgan Mead, the director, and David Hamilton, the writer, both of whom will also be at the screening.

M Magazine is sponsoring the May screening in celebration of its anniversary.
