Fans can gather Friday at Worthen Arena to send off the Ball State University women's basketball team as it travels to Bowling Green, Ky., for its NCAA Tournament game against the University of Tennessee.
The Cardinals will board their bus between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Friday at Gate 1 of Worthen Arena. The team will leave by 5:30 p.m.
Ball State plays the two-time defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday. The Volunteers are coached by Pat Summitt, who has won eight national championships and was named the Naismith Coach of the Century in 2000.
Ball State is the No. 12 seed in the Berkeley Region while Tennessee is the No. 5 seed. The Cardinals earned the spot in the tournaments by winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
