SOCCER: Ball State signs eight recruits

Ball State University soccer coach Michael Lovett announced the signing of eight recruits to national letters of intent Wednesday for the 2009 season.

The Cardinals signed midfielder Alyssa Ables from Huntertown, defender/midfielder Maggie Brown from West Chester, Ohio, defender Coco Cammon from New Hope, Minn., defender Skylar Chew from Mason, Ohio, midfielder/defender Amanda Dreyfus from Grove City, Ohio, defender/midfielder Brigit Reder from West Chester, Ohio, forward Paige Stroinski from Granger and goalkeeper Nicole Wood from Strongsville, Ohio

Last year Ball State finished 9-10-1 in Lovett's first season as the head coach. The Cardinals begin their spring season April 4 in Fort Wayne against Western Michigan University.
