Bill Nichols, managing editor of Politico.com, and Tony Fargo, an assistant professor of journalism at Indiana University, will speak in the David Letterman Communications and Media Building on Monday.
According to Politico.com, Nichols worked for USA Today for more than 20 years prior to joining the Politico team. Nichols covered the White House and the State Department before becoming a senior correspondent in Washington for USA Today.
Fargo is an associate professor of journalism at Indiana University, according to it's Web site. Before Indiana University, Fargo worked as an assistant professor of mass communication at the University of Nevada and as an assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island.
Nichols and Fargo will visit as a part of the journalism department's Professional-in-Residence Series. The presentation, "Change We Can See Into," will cover governmental secrecy and how it affects students.
Politico.com is a Web site and newspaper geared toward covering current events in the government. The site hosts a venue for the public to observe and discuss the way the government is carrying out laws.
