WOMEN'S TENNIS: BSU tries to get back to .500 vs. IUPUI

The last time the IUPUI women's tennis team visited Muncie, it put forth one of its better performances of the season.

The Jaguars' doubles tandem of Vanessa Carna and Emily Holsapple captured a flight C doubles championship in the Ball State Invitational last fall in Muncie. Both Carna and Holsapple also took home singles wins as well.

The Ball State University women's tennis team will play host to the Jaguars of IUPUI at 1 p.m. at the YMCA Tennis Center with hopes of capturing its second dual meet victory and getting back to .500 for the season.

Ball State started the dual meet season off with a 3-4 loss to the University of Dayton on Jan. 17, in Muncie, but responded five days later with a 6-1 victory against Wright State University at the same venue. Ball State then traveled to Bloomington and suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of the No. 30 Hoosiers of Indiana University.

Now at 1-2, the Cardinals look to the matchup against IUPUI to reach the .500 mark for the season if they defeat the Jaguars. For the 2009 spring season, IUPUI is winless with a 0-4 record heading into today's match against the Cardinals.
