The Ball State University Truth Movement will explore the untold story of Martin Luther King Jr. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in the Atrium.
Complete transcripts of King's speeches and threatening government documents labeling him as a "trouble-maker" and a "threat" who needed to be "neutralized" will be on display.
Tony Farmer, president of the Ball State Truth Movement, said the media's portrayal of King is often inaccurate. He said he hopes this event will "open people's eyes to pretty incredible, shocking things."
Farmer said the goal of this event is to raise questions and for viewers to come to their own conclusions.
Free pizza and refreshments will be served beginning at 11 a.m.
The display will be followed by a presentation at 5:15 p.m. in Art and Journalism Building, Room 175. Farmer, along with several possible guests, will conduct a dialogue to explore questions raised by the earlier presentation.
