The No. 13 Ball State University men's volleyball team defeated Rutgers-Newark University 30-23, 30-23, 30-21 Friday at Worthen Arena
Outside attacker Marcus Imwalle had a match-high 17 kills, including eight in the first game. It was 12th most kills for Ball State player in a three-game match during the rally scoring era.
This was also the first the match Imwalle has started since the season opener Jan. 17.
Ball State has out-hit Rutgers .390 to .120.
With this win, the Cardinals (2-4, 1-0 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) ended their non-conference four match losing streak to open the season.
