The Mid-American Conference coaches predicted the Ball State University baseball team will finish second in the MAC West Division in their annual preseason poll released today.
Ball State is expected to finish behind Western Michigan University in the MAC West. Last year the Cardinals finished third in the MAC West behind Eastern Michigan University and Northern Illinois University.
The Cardinals return 16 letterwinners from last season's team that had a 28-25 record, including a 12-11 record in MAC play.
Ball State opens its season with a four-game series against Furman University Friday in Greenville, S.C.
