The Ball State University women's tennis team will look to rebound from a season-opening loss against a team it swept 7-0 last year.
Ball State will play host to Wright State University at 1 p.m. today at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. Ball State enters the matchup 0-1 after losing to the University of Dayton Saturday while the Raiders have yet to play this season. Wright State was scheduled to play Dayton last week but the match was postponed.
Last year Ball State won all but one singles match in straight sets against Wright State. The Cardinals also won all three of the doubles matches.
Of the seven players who contributed to last year's sweep of the Raiders, two - Hayley Hall and Georgina Thomson - return to the Cardinals' roster this season. Hall did not compete against Dayton because of an injury while Thomson won her doubles match and lost at No. 3 singles. Four of the Raiders' players from last year's squad returned for their 2009 squad.
