FOOTBALL: Alumni Association has four full buses for MAC title game, more fans for rally

Four buses full of Ball State University football fans will depart to Detroit for the Mid-American Conference Championship Game on Friday as part of the Alumni Association's travel package.

Ed Shipley, the executive director of alumni programs, said about 220 people signed up for the Alumni Association's travel package to the game, which will fill four buses. The pregame rally at Ford Field, which is included in the travel package, has 338 people signed up, Shipley said.

"I think it's gone very well," he said. "We have a number of people doing different things."

The Alumni Association stopped selling its travel packages at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The package included a spot on a bus to the game, the pregame rally and a game ticket for $90 per person.

Student Government Association also stopped selling its travel packages for students at 5 p.m. Wednesday, but information about its amount of sales was unavailable at closing time. The student travel package cost $40 for a spot on a bus and a game ticket. Students could also buy tickets through SGA for $15.

The Ball State Ticket Office also did not have information about the amount of tickets it had sold as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets can still be purchased until 5 p.m. today for $20 through the ticket office in Worthen Arena. Fans can contact the ticket office by calling 888.BSU.TICKET or going to www.ballstatesports.com/tickets.
