Ball State University women's basketball player Audrey McDonald was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week Monday.
McDonald led the Cardinals to their first win of the season Friday against Robert Morris University by scoring 25 points and shooting 7-11 from behind the three-point line. Saturday against Cleveland State University, the junior scored 14 points and had a career-high six assists.
McDonald also broke a Preseason WNIT record by making 13 3-pointers.
This is McDonald's second time receiving this award. She leads the team in points scored, and has made twice as many 3-point field goals as the rest of the team combined.
The junior is fourth in Ball State history with 156 career 3-pointers made.
She has made 13 this season and needs 33 more to tied Markita Griffin, who played from 1996-99, for fourth all-time in 3-pointers at Ball State. McDonald needs 98 more to surpass Johna Goff for the most 3-pointers in a Ball State career.
McDonald is also seventh in Ball State history with 365 3-pointers attempted in her career.
The junior already has the Ball State records for 3-pointers made in a game with nine against Western Michigan University last season. She also holds the single-season record as she made 81 3-pointers last year.
