After the Ball State University women's golf team won its second tournament of the fall, Kirsty O'Connor won her second career Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week award.
O'Connor was named the weekly award winner Thursday by the conference.
She earned it for her efforts in the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational Championship, in which she finished sixth individually with a three-round score of 229. The tournament consisted of 75 individuals from 15 schools Saturday through Monday.
O'Connor's performance helped lead the Cardinals to a first-place finish in the invitational. Ball State, which had a team score of 921, beat the host University of Iowa by five strokes. The Cardinals also beat other schools including the University of Wisconsin and Penn State University.
O'Connor also won the weekly conference award in the spring after she won the 2008 Butler Spring Invitational.
