Shafer Tower goes green
- Shafer Tower has been using metal halide light bulbs even since construction was finished on it in 2002.
- Shafer Tower is now lit how it was originally planned; the immense amount of power required for metal halide light bulbs had prevented this lighting.
- The LED lights weren't installed originally because LED technology was not available until 2005.
