Ball State University sophomore Ali Bishel claimed a fourth-place finish at the 2008 Stanford University Invitational last weekend.
Because of the large number of entrants, the 10,000-meter run was divided into two sections. Bishel's time of 34:37.63 placed her fourth in her section and moved her to second all-time in school history in the event. She also finished less than one minute behind Lara Crofford of the University of Nebraska, who won the event with a time of 33:56.46.
Bishel was the lone Ball State athlete to compete in the meet, as the rest of the team was participating in the Mike Poelein Invitational at Purdue University.
