Obama's wife visits Anderson

Michelle Obama, Sen. Barack Obama's wife, spoke about topics ranging from college loan debt, public education and health insurance Wednesday to a crowd at Anderson University.

With the high cost of college, Michelle Obama said students struggled to pay back their college debt, if they could get the loans to attend in the first place. She told the audience that she and her husband had not paid their student loan debt by their early 40s.

She spoke about Barack's early career as a community organizer and how he worked with citizens on the streets of southside Chicago.

"We need a fundamentally different kind of leadership," Michelle Obama said.

Audience member Jan Stith said she's glad there was finally a candidate working for change. She said she liked the grassroots effort of Obama's campaign.
