GYMNASTICS: Cards score 189 for third straight time

For the third consecutive meet, the Ball State University gymnastics team scored at least 189 points.

Competing at Michigan State University Sunday against the Spartans and the Mid-American Conference's Western Michigan University, the Cardinals scored 189.375. The score was the second highest of the season for the Cardinals but was still not enough to earn them their first win of the season. Ball State is now 0-9 on the season.

The top event for the Cardinals was the floor in which they scored a 48.225, led by Cobie Zuk's and Brittany Bauer's 9.700.

Zuk competed in all four events in the competition scoring 38.275 in the all-around.

Erica Gilkerson led the team on the vault with a score of 9.725, Bibiana Rodriguez was tops on the bars with a 9.600 and Lauren West led the way with a 9.650 on the beam.
