Suffering from three losses in its past four games, Ball State University's women's basketball team will attempt to finish its stint against Mid-American Conference East Division teams on a strong note Saturday.
The Cardinals will tip off at Kent State University at noon Saturday in their final game against a MAC East team during the regular season. Ball State is currently 2-3 in the first five games of its six-game stint against competition in the East Division.
On paper, the Golden Flashes look to be a good team for the Cardinals to use to get back on a winning track. Kent State's 3-7 record in MAC play places it second-to-last in the East Division, ahead of the University of Akron, which is 2-8 in conference play.
Ball State's one win in the past four games was a 16-point home victory against the Zips. Kent State beat Akron by nine points earlier this season.
The Golden Flashes have two players who average in double-figure scoring, led by Anna Kowalska's 17.8. Asheley Harkins adds 11.7 points per game.
Ball State has three players averaging in double figures, led by junior guard Porchia Green's 13. Senior forwards Julie DeMuth and Lisa Rusche are the Cardinals' other two double-figure scorers, averaging 11.8 and 10.9, respectively.
