CROSS COUNTRY: Ball State finishes ninth at Great Lakes Regionals

Junior continues to lead BSU runners with 7th place finish

Junior Ali Bishel led the Ball State University cross country team again this weekend as she finished seventh overall at the 2007 NCAA Great Lakes Regionals.

As a team, Ball State finished ninth overall with 285 points at the meet.

The meet was led by Big Ten schools. Michigan State University won with 60 points and the University of Michigan finished second with 63.

The University of Akron finished seventh with 263 points and Miami University finished eighth with 284 points.

Bishel, who has led the Cardinals at every meet this season, finished in 21:00.07.

Nicole Edwards of Michigan won with a time of 20:30.76.

Bishel finished second among Mid-American Conference runners behind fifth place Laura Neufarth of Miami University, who finished in 20:55.07.

Junior Vanessa finished second for Ball State, 45 overall, with a time of 22:14.

Three sophomores also placed in the top five for the Cardinals. Sarah Kehe finished 71st overall at 22:51, Kelsey Nielsen finished 73rd at 22:52 and Lisa Arrowsmith finished 89th at 23:05.
