The Ball State University men's basketball team announced Friday its third assistant coach for the 2007-08 season.

Joseph Price, who was an assistant coach at IUPUI for the last five seasons, completes the Cardinals' coaching staff under head coach Billy Taylor. Prior to Price's hiring, Bob Simmons and Jim Molinari were named the other assistant coaches.

"I am excited to add Joseph to our staff," Taylor stated in a press release. "Joseph brings a different type of experience to our program."

At IUPUI, Price's responsibilities included recruiting, opponent scouting and player development. In addition he worked with post players on shooting and man-to-man defense.

With Price as an assistant coach in 2004-05, the Jaguars out-rebounded opponents by nearly three boards per game.

In college Price played in 115 games for the University of Norte Dame and averaged 6.2 points per game during his senior season. Following his four-year college career, the Washington Bullets selected him in the seventh round of the 1986 NBA Draft. However, instead of going to the NBA, Price chose to play professional basketball in Europe.
