Today, Friday and Saturday are the busiest travel days for the Spring Break season, according to Transportation Security Administration officials. The Federal Aviation Administration is enforcing regulations that are new to any airline traveler who hasn't been in an airport since last Spring Break.
In order to make the trip to the airport as easy and pleasant as possible, travelers need to remember to pack smart and plan ahead, according to TSA.
Liquid carry-on ruleAll liquid, gel and aerosol containers must be three ounces or smaller. All containers should be in one clear, zip-top, quart size or smaller plastic bag. All passengers are allowed one plastic bag.

Travel tipsIn order to pass through security points more quickly, the TSA recommends travelers follow these tips:
Dress smartTravelers who are wearing clothes large enough to conceal a weapon or other dangerous items might be stopped and inspected.Travelers should avoid wearing clothing or jewelry with metal pieces. Body rings can also set off alarms, and travelers might be asked to remove them in private.Any metal items that can be removed, such as bracelets and watches, should be placed in a bin and sent through the X-ray machine.Travelers are not allowed through metal detectors while wearing shoes.Place shoes in a bin for the X-ray machine.
Organize ahead of timePut loose items such as keys and wallets in a carry-on bag to keep things together for the X-ray machine.Only carry essential items. Pack everything else in checked luggage.
