Ball State University has chosen FieldTurf USA, Inc., to install the new playing surface at Scheumann Stadium.
"We are extremely excited to have the installation of FieldTurf as a part of our project to renovate Scheumann Stadium," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Collins said in a release. "We believe this is the best product on the market and will be very beneficial not only for the football program at Ball State, but it will also allow the opportunity to host additional events on campus and in the Muncie community. We are looking forward to the completion of the project and our partnership with FieldTurf."
Ball State will become the eighth member of the Mid-American Conference to play its home football games on FieldTurf. In addition to Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami University, Northern Illinois, Ohio and Western Michigan also play on FieldTurf. Twenty-one of the 32 NFL teams also play on FieldTurf.
