Muncie's reality television show is no longer a reality.
CBS has canceled "Armed & Famous," an article posted on media industry site Variety.com reported Friday.
Calls to CBS media relations department were not returned Sunday.
As of Sunday, CBS.com had no listing for the show under its primetime directory. TVGuide.com listed a new episode of CSI: NY in the 8 p.m. Wednesday slot - "Armed & Famous" previous assignment.
For the last two weeks, FOX's "American Idol" ran in the same time slot as CBS' "Armed," shifting ratings numbers in favor of the singers' spotlight. "Armed's" Jan. 17 show placed third in the ratings race, while Wednesday's show slipped to a distant fourth, according to preliminary ratings on Zap2it.com.
The show's Jan. 9 and 10 debut were matched with favorable results before "Idol" hit airwaves, with "Armed" placing second during its first Wednesday appearance, Zap2it.com reported.
The show cast Erik Estrada, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, LaToya Jackson, Trish Stratus and Jack Osbourne as Muncie police officers. It wrapped production on Jan. 9 - the same day the show's first episode aired.
