Robbers chose junior Seth Robinson and sophomore Joel Suenram's house as their target Friday night, making this the second time the house has been robbed this semester.
"I don't feel safe," Robinson said. "I don't even want to go to my house. Two times in a semester is ridiculous."
Around 9 p.m. Friday two men entered Robinson's home on the 1400 block of West Marsh Street through the back door saying they were police, Robinson said. The two men were armed and wearing masks, he said.
Robinson said he has been on edge since he was robbed by two men Oct. 11, so when he saw the men in his kitchen on Friday he tried to push them out of the house. One of the men hit him over the head with a gun. On Oct. 11 Robinson said one of the robbers had a plastic gun - this time the gun wasn't plastic.
"It hurt like hell," he said.
Robinson said he was knocked to the ground and dazed, at which point the men searched through the rest of Robinson's house still acting like police.
"The whole time they were trying to act like cops," he said. "We didn't believe them, but they were calling themselves sergeant and threatening us."
While the men were searching through the house, the police showed up, at which point the men managed to escape through the back of the house, Robinson said.
"The first time I was robbed I was a little more at ease because we caught them, but now they're still out there," he said. "All this stuff at Windermere and everything that's happening, it's terrifying."
Robinson said he didn't know who the men were either time and he has no idea what they want. On Friday, the men ended up taking $15 from Robinson.
"I'm getting sick of all of this," he said.
Muncie Police dispatcher Joe Griffin said he would recommend residents look to see if people claiming to be police are in a clearly marked uniform before opening the door. If they are not, residents should call police to check if officers have been sent to their location. If police are not clearly marked, Griffin said residents should not open the door.
"You have that right as a citizen," Griffin said.
