College students are known for living risky lives. People perceive students as driving too quickly, drinking too much and taking too many unnecessary risks.
But Alyssa Couch was not taking major risks - she was on her way to tutor someone.
She was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
She wasn't doing anything more risky than what most students do on a daily basis. Anyone could have been driving down Jackson when another car drifted into the wrong lane.
She was going to help someone; she was traveling to do something she loved.
Couch's death should serve as a wake up call to the rest of us. No one knows how long life will last.
Instead of wasting time checking our friends' Facebook profiles or instant messaging them, call them. Go out and do something.
Live life with the time you are given. Spend your life doing the things you love.
All it takes is a second to change everything.
