The Ohio University Bobcats were the victors with Carime Reinhart of Ohio the individual winner in 20:02.90. The Bobcats were followed by Bowling Green State University, the University of Akron, Toledo University and Ball State.
The final results of the race indicate how close the race was, team-wise, with the Cardinals only 22 points from third place.
"We kind of knew Ohio was the favorite coming in," assistant coach Turena Lane said. "But this race really could have gone either way."
Senior Rose Lehe led Ball State and took 16th place. She was closely followed by fellow senior Vanessa Gilbert in 21st.
