Dear Editor,
I experienced an out-of-the-ordinary encounter with the lunch staff. As my sister and I were rushing to throw away our trash and return our lunch trays at the Noyer Cafeteria, my sister realized she had left her I.D. on the lunch tray. We were in a hurry already and didn't have time to look for the I.D. in the trash. We began to panic.
Our I.D. cards are a key to everything and she would have to pay for a new one. As her eyes began to fill up with tears, a man, who was a staff member in the cafeteria said, "I will look for it. It will be OK. Come back later to check in and see if we found it."
My sister thanked him but the panic and worry was still all over her face. We came back an hour later and the man had found it. This gentleman was so kind to look through the trash of all places, for her I.D.! It was the nicest thing that we both had witnessed at our first year at Ball State University. A willing staff member helping a student who was in desperate need. At our old school, our lunch ladies would have made us dig through it ourselves. This just goes to show that the staff members here at Ball State are always willing to go that extra mile to help their students! Thank you, sir. for helping my sister and me out.
