For the second consecutive week, Ball State University women's soccer team will be on the road for a weekend double-header. Friday, the Cardinals will be paired against Northern Arizona University and Sunday afternoon against Portland State University. Both games are a part of the LaQuinta Inn and Suites Mountain Classic, which is being held in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Friday's match against NAU will be broadcast online - adding another dimension to Ball State's weekend. Fans can go to www.ballstatesports.com and click on the soccer link to view the match.
So far this year, sophomore reserve forward Sarah Schumaker and senior middle attacker Vandi Ogden lead the team in scoring. Schumaker has two goals in two games, both after coming off the bench for the Cardinals. Red-shirt sophomore goalkeeper Rachael Murphey has also performed well, tallying nine saves in Ball State's match at Illinois State.
The Cardinals are 1-0-1 on the season, winning their first game 5-1 against IPFW and battling to a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Illinois State.
