Students are collecting spare change and extra dollars today at the Scramble Light to help fight world hunger.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 10 students will ask for donations to the United Nations World Food Programme and pass out literature on the organization and world hunger. This is their final project in Honors 298, Symposium in the Life Sciences.
"We had a couple of discussions in class about world hunger," sophomore Tony Rowe said. "It really spoke out to a lot of us. The issue is still really strong around the world."
The group does not have a goal, but Rowe said every donation would help.
