Two Ball State University students are safe but without an apartment following an early evening fire tonight.
Graduate student Chris French and fifth year student Aaron Brown arrived at Walnut Manor Apartments, on North Bennington Court, located behind Target, to find firefighters hosing down their charred apartment building.
Batallion Chief Terry Moore said no one was hurt in the incident. The cause of the fire was not yet known, he said.
The fire was called in at 7:02 p.m., Moore said.
French owns three cats, and as of 9 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters had found one dead but had not yet located the other two.
