Former Arkansas assistant coach Ronny Thompson will be named the next head coach for Ball State's men's basketball team, a source within the university confirmed Tuesday night.
Thompson was an assistant for three years at the University of Arkansas and is the son of legendary Georgetown coach John Thompson. His brother, John Thompson III, is the current Georgetown head coach.
Ball State will have a press conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday to introduce Thompson at the Alumni Arena Lounge.
