The Ball State University women's track and field team kicks off its outdoor season Saturday at the Southern Illinois Classic in Carbondale, Ill.
For most squad members, this will be the first time they have competed since Feb. 24-25 at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships. The only exceptions, sophomore Amber Williams and junior Terri Abraham, competed March 3-4 at the Alex Wilson Invitational.
The Classic, which kicks off at 11 a.m., will serve as a starting point to the club which has not competed for nearly a month. Coach Sue Parks said she is not concerned with results this weekend, but rather is hoping for a good start to the season.
"This weekend we just want to get a meet under our belts and get as good of a start as possible," Parks said. "We just want to pick up where we left off, and get out there and compete."
