Dear Editor,
I am relieved to read that I'm not alone in my thoughts on Ball State University's television advertising campaign.
When I was in eighth grade, I remember a goofy bunch of commercials with an over-ecstatic blonde boasting Ball State's award-winning attributes. Sure, they were goofy, but they displayed smiling students and a beautiful, tree-infested campus - much of what I witnessed while visiting Ball State during high school. Come to think of it, the university's beauty and friendly atmosphere played a big part in bringing me here instead of Purdue or Indiana universities.
The new commercials depict Gora as a ghost - a seemingly unreal president, who most of us have never seen in person, roaming around an empty mansion. This display doesn't help the cause of bringing better numbers to our school in the near future.
