The Cardinal Movement must pay $50 in fines because of Student Government Association elections signage violations.
Two grievances were filed against the slate, and the Elections Board decided both deserved fines.
First, an oversized poster was discovered in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. Signs are limited to 18 inches by 22 inches, and the board was well over the limitations, William Garvey, Elections Board chairman, said. The Elections Board voted 4-1 to fine The Cardinal Movement $25.
Second, several signage problems were found in residence halls, including signs in Woodworth bathrooms on mirrors and tiles. Three members of the board voted to fine the slate $25, and two members chose to abstain, Garvey said.
The Cardinal Movement and Team Lisec have now both received two $25 fines for Elections Code violations.
All grievances are filed with the Elections Board, which meets to vote on the validity of the claim and the punishment. Six grievances have been filed during the first week of open campaigning.
