A change in the 2006 football schedule has Ball State University opening its season at home. The Cardinals will play Aug. 31 against a Mid-American Conference school yet to be announced.
Ball State was originally scheduled to play at Michigan University on Sept. 2 to open the season. The Cardinals will now face the Wolverines on Nov. 4.
The schedule change allows Ball State to play a home-opener on a Thursday night and Michigan to play Vanderbilt University.
