Dear Editor,
I think it is sad the university will not even attempt to work with Muncie Indiana Transit System on creating new bus routes. The advantages are great for both parties.
MITS has taken many risks for the university in the past couple of years, and it has succeeded in its attempts: Patronage of MITS buses has risen, which confirms students will ride the bus, and Ball State University has benefited greatly by this decision. I don't see why the university cannot give financial backing - the bus company is not asking for much.
It is something the university should consider, not disregard every time it surfaces.
Why not take a small risk? MITS has done it for the university and is willing to do it again. It would be a great benefit to the student body.
