Ball State University President Jo Ann Gora named Tom Collins the athletic director Saturday morning at the Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
Collins has been the senior associate athletic director at Arizona State University the past five years. He has spent a total of 20 years with the Sun Devils.
The announcement completes a rigorous national search to replace Cunningham. In his short tenure here, he raised over $13 million for the renovation of Scheumann Stadium.
One of Collins main tasks when he arrives will be completing the renovation project.
