The Ball State University women's volleyball team will play Miami (Ohio) in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament after the RedHawks defeated Buffalo 3-0 (30-22, 30-22, and 30-25). Emily Schroeder had 17 kills, and Suzy Wolford had 14 digs to pace the RedHawks.
Miami got out to a 7-2 lead in game three on three kills by Schroeder and a pair of hitting errors by the Bulls. Buffalo rattled off five straight points to take a 16-15 lead.
Miami rallied from there, taking a commanding 26-21 lead before the Bulls called a timeout. The Bulls didn't give up as they rallied to get within four points at 29-25 in game three, but Schroeder put an end to things with her match-high 17th kill.
In their only other meeting this year, Ball State defeated Miami in Muncie 3-2 on September 23rd. Sarah Obras led the way with 23 kills, and Amanda McCormick had 34 digs in the victory.
The third-seeded Cardinals and the sixth-seeded RedHawks will meet Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the SeaGate Center in Toledo, Ohio.
