Jeff Lock won the title of Ball State University's funniest person as well as $175 at the Laugh Out Loud comedy contest Wednesday night at Pruis Hall.
"It was awesome, I had a lot of support," Lock said.
John Moore was the runner-up of the Laugh Out Loud event, earning him $50.
Lock said he organized the event through his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta.
Laugh Out Loud was played host to by former Ball State graduate and now motivational speaker Chris Bowers.
In addition to Lock and Moore, the event included other Ball State comics: Ben Dewhurst, Tom Maloney and Jack Dreesen.
The comics targeted such areas as water beds, Great Clips, girlfriends, drunken experiences, random hook-ups, current events and the negative aspects of house parties.
The sketch group, "Something Else TV" showcased four fake commercials that poked fun at daytime television ads and also performed a live skit about a strange support group faced with the presence of an angry new member.
Ryan Moran, a friend of Bowers and fellow motivational speaker, was also featured in Laugh Out Loud.
Moran took words and phrases from the audience and included them in a song.
Moran's song included references to sex education, roast beef and insults to anyone that tried to leave during his set.
After his song, Moran divided the audience into four sections and assigned them each a certain noise or phrase.
Moran then beat-boxed and used the audience to fill in certain parts of his song with their assigned noise.
