Dear Editor,
I turned on the radio Saturday, and Ball State University's football team was down by almost three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. I flipped off the radio knowing the two-game streak was coming to an end.
Fortunately, quarterback Joey Lynch and gang were not as defeatist as I was. On a whim, I turned the radio back on with a minute left, and Ball State was going for the winning touchdown. In fact, the team went for it - and seemingly got it - three times before the officials finally allowed the last touchdown to stand with about 12 seconds remaining.
This Saturday, do yourself a favor and go to the football game at noon, and see if Ball State can extend its winning streak to four games.
Then, walk over to Worthen Arena and watch a group of exceptionally talented basketball players play their first official game of the year at 7 p.m.
