Multi-platinum recording artist Jo Dee Messina is set to perform at Emens Auditorium today with Atlanta-based trio Sugarland.
Messina, who scored her first number one hit in 1996 is the only female country artist in history to score three multiple-week No. 1 songs from the same album.
"Music has always been an enormous part of my life," Messina said. "It's not just something I do, it's part of who I am. Songwriting to me is my refuge, a safe place to me where I can go to spell out my emotions, especially when dealing with tough situations."
Sugarland, which is known for combining twang-tinged songs with the sounds of Mississippi soul, has been nominated for Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year and a Horizon Award at this year's CMA Awards. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the Emens box office or Ticketmaster locations.
