Conference to highlight wireless technology

Students can learn about Indiana's role as a leader in wireless technology today at a conference sponsored by Indiana Innovation Network.

Professionals and researchers in the wireless industry will be discussing the opportunities and innovations in wireless technologies from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ball State University Alumni Center.

Indiana State Senator David Ford, the conference's keynote speaker, will be speaking about the state's role in wireless technology. His speech will start after an introduction at 1 p.m. by Jerome McCluskey, chairman of the IIN board, and Ball State President Jo Ann Gora.

A panel titled "Indiana Regulatory Landscape" will start at 1:45 p.m.

At 2:10 p.m., another panel called "Successful Trailblazers in Indiana," will feature professionals from cities and universities that are forerunners in wireless technology.

Researchers from Ball State, Indiana, Indiana State, and Purdue universities, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division will present their findings at 3 p.m.

Students can network with speakers and presenters at tables and displays after the researchers conclude.
