MEN'S TENNIS: Baccarani loses last chance at main draw

Matt Baccarani and Patrick Thompson will have an extra day of rest before they begin the ITA All-American Tournament's doubles main draw.

Baccarani fell today in the tournament's second round of the singles qualifier to drop any chance of advancing to the main draw.

Marco Born of Middle Tennessee State University ended No. 79 Baccarani's run in the second round with a 7-5, 6-4 win over the Ball State University senior.

No. 15 Baccarani and Thompson will move on to the main draw for doubles, which they already secured a berth for with their national ranking.

Last year Baccarani and Thompson defeated Louisiana State University's Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston in the first round before dropping out in the second round to a duo from Virginia.
