Ball State University's softball team will have one invitational that lasts two weeks as its only test during the off season this year.The Cardinals will head down to West Lafayette for two games this weekend and then return next weekend for two additional games.This weekend, the Cardinals will face Valparaiso and St. Joseph's.The Cardinals went 19-37 last season, but two of those wins came against the Crusaders. Ball State played Valpo twice during the Southern Illinois Classic.St. Joe's ended last season with a 21-23 record.The Cardinals return 11 letter winners from last season and has seven newcomers. The following weekend, the Cardinals will face Purdue and IUPUI. The Cards will then be dormant until February.
